De donkere huid is gevoeliger voor pigmentatie dan de witte huid. Dit komt doordat de melanocyten in een gekleurde huid groter zijn. Wat zijn melanocyten? Dit zijn cellen die melanine (pigment) produceren. Doordat de cellen groter zijn is de kans op pigmentatie ook groter. Dit betekent dat de donkere huid dan ook gevoeliger is voor exfolianten. Wij adviseren producten te kiezen die exfolianten bevatten die geen schade toebrengen aan de donkere huid. Hierover kun je Amaryllis Clinic benaderen. Wij helpen je graag. Wij zullen onderstaand een aantal ingrediënten toelichten die geschikt zijn voor het bestrijden van hyperpigmentatie:
- Ferulic Acid: Dit is een antioxidant die de vorming van rimpels, fijne lijntjes, pigmentvlekken en tekenen van huidveroudering tegengaat. Dit is een zuur die goed samengaat met Vitamine C. Gebruik deze niet in combinatie met Glycolzuur, Lactic Acid en Salicyl zuur. Deze veranderen de PH-balans van de huid en doet het effect van het antioxidant te niet.
- Vitamine A: Retinol is een vorm van vitamine A. Voor de donkere huid adviseren wij een laag percentage om de kans op irritatie en pigmentatie te verkleinen. We adviseren ook altijd om deze te gebruiken in combinatie met een goede moisturizer en/of olie.
- SPF: We adviseren dagelijks een spf te gebruiken van minimaal factor 30.
- Alpha Arbutin: Alpha Arbutin vertraagt de aanmaak van melanine en werkt daarom goed tegen melasma, acne littekens, hyperpigmentatie. Deze werkt goed in combinatie met vitamine C. De kans op irritatie is ook klein. We adviseren om na gebruik van alpha arbutin een moisturizer te gebruiken om het geheel te sealen.
- Tanexamic Acid: Dit is een aminozuur en een goede anti-pigmentatie ingrediënt voor een gevoelige huid. Het is goed te gebruiken in combinatie met vitamine C. Tranexamic Acid is minder bekend dan Alpha Arbutin en er is minder wetenschappelijk onderzoek naar gedaan. Uit onderzoek is wel gebleken dat Tranexamic Acid goed is om te gebruiken tegen roodheid na acne.
